The Logs
All of our logs are based on the D-log system. This system provides many options from a
rustic exterior and a modern interior, all the way to achieving the full round log look.
While you have full flexibility with this system, you will have the minimum on maintenance
and shrinkage. The basic log comes in 2 species.
We use Midwest grown timber in a D shape with a tongue and groove and caulk
between every log with additional caulk at the outside seams. Our logs have been kiln dried so that
we have no problems with shrinkage or twisting, We use a standard 2X4 stud wall on the interior of
all the perimeter walls and face it with 1x6 pine planking to simulate the interior of the actual
4x6 log. The exterior finish on the logs can be hand peeled (most popular) or machined
smooth.
All log styles come in cedar or yellow pine. Details are listed next to each style.
