Our log home kits
come in a variety of materials and styles. We harvest our logs from the mid western forests
of the United States. Our best selling log is the yellow pine for it's strength, cost
effectiveness and durability.
We use Midwest grown timber in a D shape with a tongue and groove and caulk between every log with
additional caulk at the outside seams. Our logs have been kiln dried so that we have no problems
with shrinkage or twisting, We use a standard 2X4 stud wall on the interior of all the perimeter
walls and face it with 1x6 pine planking to simulate the interior of the actual 4x6 log. The
exterior finish on the logs can be hand peeled (most popular) or machined smooth.
We have a catalog with 20 models in it but we can and usually do custom design using one of them as
a starting point or even completely from scratch
Many log suppliers call their logs "Dry" which means that they have been aged and
dried in the forest. This leaves potential for bug infestation and inconsistent moisture from
one log to another. We feel it's important to kiln dry our logs at 160 degrees so as to
ensure that you have a log that has a consistent 19% moisture throughout your entire house.
This also destroys any bugs or eggs that could possibly be in the logs. This process ensures
that you will have the least amount of maintenance and virtually no shrinkage in your log
home. Contact us today to begin planning your project
